Delete an AOL Instant Messenger Account or Screen Name

Have you ever wanted to delete a past AIM screen name but never knew how?

Steps

Unfortunately, there is no way to delete an AIM screen name at this moment in time. However, you may click on "My AIM" and go to "Edit Preferences". Finally, go to the control tab and select "Nothing About Me".
This will take all the unwanted information off your account as in profile and such.
Otherwise, you should just sign off the account and not use it again. That is as good as deleting your screen name is going to get.
