Do Casterboard Tricks

Did you get a RipStik Caster Board for the holidays or your birthday? Can you ride it but not do many tricks? Follow these steps to learn about these different tricks you can do to impress your friends on your new ride.

Steps

Manual

  1. Get on the RipStik.
  2. While you're riding, shift your back foot as close to the edge as possible.
  3. Make sure your back foot doesn't hang off the board.
  4. Keep the board flat while riding so you can keep your balance.
  5. Shift your weight to your back foot.
  6. The nose of your board should rise slowly.
  7. Don't scrape the back of your board.
  8. Try to stay in that position as long as possible.
  9. Use your arms to help you balance.( You might want to move your arms slowly around.)
    • To do a nose manual use the same technique as the manual except move your front foot towards the edge and lean forward.

Hang-Ten

  1. Get on your RipStik.
  2. When you have gained some speed, move your front foot closer to the edge (don't move it all the way to the edge however).
  3. Quickly move your back foot to the front of the board but keep your back foot behind your front foot. This will mean that you are standing on the front of the board and have done the Hang-Ten!
  4. To do a reverse Hang-Ten, bring your front foot to the back.

Ollie

  1. Get on the RipStik.
  2. Move your back foot as close to the edge as possible.
  3. Crouch down just enough to shift your weight to your back foot, but lessen it so you can keep your balance.
  4. Kick your back foot on the tail and at the same time bring yourself forward. Right after you kick the tail, slide your front foot up the board and push down with your front foot.
  5. Bring the front foot back and be ready to absorb the impact.Like a sponge!!

Slide Jump

  1. Get on the RipStik
  2. When you have gained some speed, slide your board to the right.
  3. Jerk your body to the right and do a sharp turn
  4. If you did it right you will fly into the spin jump.

Other Examples

  1. The Transfer: Jump off of one RipStik onto another! (After successfully doing it forwards, try it jumping backwards!)
  2. 180 Body Spin: Bend your knees, jump, turn around in the air, and land! (This one is easier if you can ride both normal and goofy.)
  3. Caveman: Slide the tail of your RipStik on the ground, put your front foot on, and quickly put your back foot on. (This is a cool way to start instead of pushing.)
  4. Caveman Flip: Flip the board in the air (Hold the bar in the middle with 3 fingers and use your index finger to flip it) and jump on it right before the wheels touch the ground. (If you master this one, you can show off to your friends while they start by pushing!)
  5. The Travel: Make a sharp turn to the right while jerking your body to the right. Then move your feet as far apart as possible to keep your balance. This trick is the coolest trick of all.

  • When doing the manual, take it slow and practice first or you will end up in a hospital.
  • Avoid bumps, speed bumps, and cracks.

  • Do not ride at night or in the rain, because you could hurt yourself.
