Do Private Browsing in Mozilla Firefox

Wonder how to privately use your browser so that it doesn't save any information about the site and pages you have visited? Here are the steps for the browser Mozilla Firefox.

Steps

  1. Open the browser.
  2. On the top right hand corner, you should see the and Mozilla Firefox menu icon. Click on the menu icon (the icon with three horizontal lines) and the Mozilla Firefox menu should appear right below the icon.
  3. In the menu, click on the 'New Private Window' tab. If you cannot find it, its just right above the 'History' icon(the icon which has a clock). A new window should appear.
    • Use Ctrl+ Shift+P for a keyboard shortcut.
  4. Start browsing in Private Mode.



Tips

  • There is an option to start up Firefox always in private mode. For this, click on "Tools" in the menu bar and choose "options". A small window appears and select "Use custom history settings" under the "History" section and tick mark "Always use private browsing mode".

Warnings

  • Some sites may not work, since cookies and cache may not be stored.
  • If the router you are using can track you, the sites you visited will be saved in your router.
  • Download history will be saved.
  • Bookmarks will be saved.
