Make Mozilla Firefox Look Like Internet Explorer

Have you ever dealt with stubborn friends, family members or coworkers who just wouldn't accept the beauty of Firefox? Too naive to understand that just because something is more common it may not be the best choice? Too stubborn to go against their strict Microsoft Certification Training? Or maybe you like the look and feel of Internet Explorer, but you'd like the reassuring security and stability Firefox provides. Well, now everyone can experience Firefox without even knowing it!

Steps

  1. If it isn't open already, open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Import bookmarks from Internet Explorer by selecting Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks>File>Import...>Microsoft Internet Explorer>Next>Finish
  3. Set Firefox as the default browser by selecting Tools>Options...>General>Default Browser and select the check box.
  4. Go to the page download of IE skin for firefox. Click "Add to Firefox".
  5. Click "Install Now" button.
  6. IE skin will be installed after you restart Firefox. Please click "Restart Now".
  7. Firefox has been restarted
  8. Wherever your current shortcut to Internet Explorer is located, place a shortcut to Mozilla Firefox (Wherever Firefox is located, right click>Send to> Desktop (Create shortcut) )
  9. Right click the shortcut to Internet Explorer, then hit Properties>Shortcut>Change Icon...
  10. Highlight and copy the location of the Internet Explorer icon.
  11. Close open windows.
  12. Right click the Mozilla Firefox icon and select Properties>Shortcut>Change Icon...
  13. Highlight the location of the Firefox icon and paste the location of the Internet Explorer icon in the field.
  14. Select OK. The icons you see in the window will change to the set provided by Internet Explorer. Make sure the default Internet Explorer icon (blue E) is selected and click OK.
  15. Select OK again to exit the Properties window.

Warnings

  • Websites which require Internet Explorer will still reject you unless you make further changes to configuration settings in Firefox.
  • This doesn't render pages as Internet Explorer would.
