The results are great, and you don't even need nail polish, or anything like that! Patience is the key. Follow this article step by step to get healthy longer nails.

Steps

  1. Get rid of any nail polish or any other products on your nails.
  2. Take a Q-tip (or your finger) and dip it in olive/vegetable oil, then rub around nails and cuticles. Make sure to get underneath your nails as well.
  3. Leave it for 2 minutes. This is so the oil will stay on your nails until you rinse them.
  4. Wash it off gently without soap under hot water.
  5. Dab (don't smudge) with a wet cotton cloth or towel.
  6. Take a bowl (soup bowl or bigger) and fill it with lukewarm water (medium temp, but a little hotter).
  7. Dip your nails in it, and keep for 20 minutes. If this is uncomfortable for you, then use two bowls (one for each hand and relax).
  8. After 20 minutes, take hair conditioner (with wet hands, don't wash them) and squirt out a little (half of what you use for your hair).
  9. Massage hands with conditioner (nails too).
  10. Dip hands back in the water for 5 minutes.
  11. Wash hands under hot water at the sink, getting all the conditioner off.
  12. Let nails dry naturally, and take frequent hand washed till nighttime.
  13. Push cuticles back before going out (with fingernails) and wash hands in cold water. You are ready to go!
  14. Use a treatment to help your nails grow faster. Soak them in a mixture of sugar, salt, and vegetable oil daily.

Tips

  • Don't bite your nails.
  • If your nails are a bit weaker, and take longer to grow, it helps to clean out the back of the nails frequently, and do not use harsh soaps.
  • Try Dove soaps which are 1/4 cream to have healthy skin and nails.
  • Lemon juice to soak your hands in can be substituted for lukewarm water.
  • File your nails lightly everyday to make them grow stronger and faster!

Warnings

  • This treatment is to be done max twice a week. Doing it more will often make the nails weaker or break.
  • Do not push cuticles back more than once a week.
