Draw a Motorcycle

Want to know how to make a really good looking motorcycle design? Just follow these steps!

Steps

A Regular Motorcycle

  1. Draw a pentagon or a shape with 5 sides. This is the guideline for the body.
  2. Add 2 circles beneath the pentagon. This will serve as the guide for the wheels.
  3. Using the guideline, sketch out the body of the motorcycle (depending on what design you want) by dividing the shape into the front, the seat, the rear, etc.
  4. Draw 3 smaller circles inside the wheels and don’t forget to add 2 lines to the front wheel and connect them to the body.
  5. Ink out the drawing and add in the details like the headlights, backlights, etc.
  6. Color the inked drawing.

A Classic Chopper

  1. Draw a triangle.
  2. Add 2 ovals for the front wheel and 2 more for the back wheel.
  3. Draw a rectangle from the middle of the front wheel to the top of the triangle. And then add 2 reverse “L” shapes for the handles.
  4. Add 2 boxes for the body.
  5. Using the guidelines and shapes, sketch out the body of the motorcycle (depending on what design you want).
  6. Ink out the sketch and don’t forget to add the details.
  7. Color the inked drawing.

A Dirt Bike

  1. Draw a diamond like hexagon for the body.
  2. Draw an irregular trapezoid in the left part for the bike front and a spike shape at the right for the back of the bike.
  3. Draw an arch for the wheel guard.
  4. Draw an irregular pentagon with two circles for the bike engine.
  5. Draw in the handlebars.
  6. Draw another set of rectangles for the wheel connector.
  7. Draw two circles each with small circles inside for the wheels.
  8. Draw a set of attached rectangles to make the muffler.
  9. Based on the outline, draw the main sections of the bike.
  10. Add details to your bike.
  11. Erase the unnecessary outlines.
  12. Design your dirt bike!

A Scooter

  1. Draw an irregular rectangle.
  2. Draw a triangle connected to the rectangle earlier to make the back part of the scooter.
  3. Draw a big trapezoid with a small inverted trapezoid above it to make the front part of the scooter.
  4. Draw three circles, two for the wheels and a one smaller one for the headlight.
  5. Draw three ovals for the wheel guard and driver seat.
  6. Draw the handle by adding a series of rectangle; Draw circles connected to the handles for the side mirror.
  7. Draw the muffler by making rectangles.
  8. Based from the guidelines, complete your scooter.
  9. Erase any unnecessary guidelines.
  10. Color your scooter!



Tips

  • Draw lightly so you can erase.
  • Not all designs are drawn the same way. Research and apply the techniques from this tutorial.
  • When coloring, don’t forget to apply a shine to give the motorcycle a metallic look.
