Draw a Park Bench
Add extra interest to park scenes using this tutorial, which uses simple perspective to draw a convincing park bench.
Steps
- Use a ruler to draw some perspective guidelines in pencil, coming from the same vanishing point.
- Sketch in a very basic bench shape – a box with the back attached, using the guidelines.
- Change the shape of the seat and back to add a curve. Star to draw in the curved shapes of the iron armrests and legs on the ends.
- Sketch some pattern detail into the iron ends, and draw in the planks. Draw in a reference line near each end for placement of screws.
- Go over the patterned ends with a dark pen or marker, filling them in. Leave some white lines to indicate edges. Go over the sketched planks as well, remembering that they're 3-dimensional too, so their sides will be visible. Erase your guidelines and you're done!
- Finished.
Tips
