Find the Right Hat for You

Did you know that you lose around 90% of your body heat through your head? Getting a hat can change all that. But before you can be warmed, complimented and stylish, you need to have the right equipment. And who knows, finding the right hat for you can be difficult sometimes.

Steps

  1. Determine your regular style. If you usually wear super loose jeans with some jewelry, then try obtaining a hat with a broad front. If you normally wear some jeans and a simple t-shirt, get a hat with a plaid design on it. And don't forget; if you are emo or goth, don't buy a white hat!
  2. Bring friends over to the store to see which hat "fits your personality". You might like a certain hat, but respect your friends' opinion if they say it's ugly. Consider their opinions, but ultimately choose what you think is best. You're the one who has to wear it, not them.
  3. Get a comfortable hat! If you find a hat that you friends think is cool and you agree, you should get it. But if it's too big or too small, it obviously is not meant for people your age, so you should probably find one that is.
  4. Make sure it's not boring. If people see a bland hat with a college name on the front, they'll only see it as a normal hat in the crowd. But if they see one with vibrant neon colors, and polka-dots, and rainbows, and sprinkles, and a bunch of stuff like that, they'll definitely pay more attention to it.
  5. Try the "feeling it" technique. Go to the shelf with the hat selections, and scan your hand over them with your eyes slightly open. This way, you'll just barely see a hat that catches your eye, and you will go on to be friends forever.

Tips

  • The "feeling it" technique can catch a few stares, so try to use it while the store isn't too crowded.
  • If you are positively sure that your hat is the best thing ever, you might want to watch out for other people who want it. Make sure you don't give anyone a chance to swipe that hat of yours right off your head.

Warnings

  • Make sure that if your hat happens to have something that could be considered offensive on it, you do not wear it to school, work, or any other commute. You can get into trouble.
  • Make sure that at the store you attend, not too many people try on hats. If they do, do a quick scan for lice. Just look inside the cap, and if it looks like things are crawling in it, tell the manager! A little check can save you from having lice in your hair.
