Fix Sinking Gear Shifter on T4 Transporter

If you have a Volkswagen Transporter 90's model (T4) and your shifter is sinking it's a very easy fix.

Steps

1. Remove the knob
2. Lift up the accordion covers
3. You will see a little block that is retaining the spring on the rod. If the block is moving freely it means that you have to put it back into place. So grab a 3mm Allen key.
4. Find the threaded hole where the Allen bolt is supposed to sit. It should be on the left hand side downward on the rod.
5. Fit the bolt back in there, apply a drop of Locktite if you fancy.
