Flavor Popcorn
Sometimes, the taste of plain popcorn get old and bland. By flavoring your popcorn, you can add a delicious and interesting twist to a classic snack.
Steps
- This is for microwave popcorn that already has butter or oil in it.
- Microwave the popcorn as normal. Once popped, open the popcorn bag but do not pour the popcorn into a bowl.
- This is the part where you choose a seasoning or flavoring. There are many companies such as Kernel Seasonings that make popcorn flavoring powders, but if you don't have these you can use spices or other flavorings to flavor your popcorn.
- Including, but not limited to: curry powder (a personal favorite), salt and pepper, shredded cheese, sprinkle cheese, chili powder, hot sauce, caramel, cinnamon-sugar, brown sugar, and taco seasoning.
- Shake the seasoning over your popcorn, pinch the bag closed with your fingers, and shake the bag gently to coat all of the popcorn pieces.
- Pour into a bowl and enjoy.
Air-popped popcorn
- Prepare the popcorn as you normally would.
- If you use a powdered flavoring, you will need to pour butter or oil over the popcorn or else the powder won't stick to the popcorn.
- Flavor as you would using the suggested flavorings in the main section, or with one of your own.
- To evenly coat the popcorn, use a spoon (or your hands) to toss the popcorn in the bowl. Be careful not to spill.
- Enjoy!
Tips
- Experiment to find which flavoring you like best. Be creative, and don't be afraid to try new things.
