Get More Attention on Flickr

Flickr is the Yahoo associated website for sharing your photos with the world. When you start a Flickr account, you'll notice only about two or three of your photos have one view. No photo has comments? Why not? This article will show you how to get more attention on flickr. (Comments, views, favorites...) So read on the find out...

Steps

  1. Comment. If you comment on someone's photos, they are most likely to check your photo stream out. The more comments, the better.
  2. Fave. Adding somebody's image as a favorite is even better then commenting. If somebody added your photo as a fave, you'd check their photo stream out, wouldn't you? That's how other people are!
  3. Galleries By adding somebody's photo to your gallery, they are also more likely to view your photo stream. They will probably comment on your gallery saying: Thanks for adding my photo to your gallery!
  4. Groups, groups, groups! The most clever way is to add your photo to groups. There are very good nature groups out there, that a lot of nature lovers add their photos to. Or, you could try a dog group if you are interested in dogs.
  5. Flickr Mail. If you go to someones profile, there will be a little yellow envelope at the top. Click it, and you can send this person flickr mail. You should start by saying you love their photos and if they reply, they will look at yours and then reply, saying they love yours! The easiest way to get attention on Flickr, would be making friends. Some users will check out your photo stream from time to time to see if you have uploaded anything new.

Tips

  • When making friends, it's better if you and that person have the same photographic interests. If he/she likes nature, and you do, well that's the easiest way to make friends with them!
  • The best groups for attention, are the post ___ comment ___. (Example, Post 1, comment 3.) You post a picture, and then comment on three others in the group pool. Then somebody else posts a picture, and comments on yours and three others! There are many of these sort of groups, including, post 1, comment ten.
  • For quicker results, go to the "recently uploaded" page and find a photo you like there. All of those photos have no comments, and the person who uploaded them will be on Flickr as you are commenting! That way they are more likely to see your comment right away!
  • Tell your family and friends! Encourage them to get a flickr account, and soon enough they will comment on your photo stream, galleries, sets, etc.
  • Get a pro account. It lets you view your stats AND you have unlimited upload space.

Warnings

  • Do not upload about thirty images a day. Ten or less will do you fine.
  • Do not swear. Flickr is a site for the whole family.
  • Don't keep bugging people to "check out your photo stream." For example, don't go commenting on someones picture saying: "Nice! HEY, check out MY PHOTO-STREAM!"
