Get Music off Pandora

Pandora is a free music player. the only problem is that you can't get the music off of it! But now you can!

Steps

  1. Open Firefox. If you don't have it, download it.
  2. Go to [1], download the add-on (called Video Download Helper), and restart Firefox when prompted.
  3. Go to Pandora, log in, and start the music playing. Once the song starts, an animation in your toolbar at the top of the page will begin. It is an animation of three colored balls spinning around.
  4. Click the drop-down button on the animation, and a string of numbers and letters with the extension .flv will appear below. Click this file.
  5. Specify the destination where you would like to download the file, and click save.
  6. The download will finish quickly, and the song will be around 3 megabytes.
  7. Right click the download, and click open containing folder. This will bring up the folder where the song was saved.
  8. Click on the filename of the song twice so that you can edit it. Change the string of numbers and letters to the song name. Delete the .flv and change it to .mp4. Press enter. The computer may ask you if you want to change the extension of the file as it may be unreadable. Click yes.
  9. Your song is now playable! Play it in any media player, such as iTunes. Enjoy!

Tips

  • you need to be on Pandora instead of Youtube, if you want to download Pandora

  • If Pandora finds out you are doing this, your account will be suspended according to the Pandora Terms of Use.
