Steps

  1. Improve your communication skills in the workplace or for an interview. By knowing, understanding, and utilizing the 4 styles of business communication. Know how the logical, director, relator, or socializer all communicate in the workplace. This will help you communicate better with people.
  2. Start reading more. Read everything you can about the industry you are in or want to be in. The more you read the better you will write and this is so important in the 21st century workplace.
    • Reading more not only improves your writing, but will give you so much more to talk about in the work place. You will soon be viewed as a subject matter expert and a go to person for valuable information. You want co-workers coming to you for valuable information not leaving you out of the information loop.
  3. Share with others your preferred communication method. For example in writing, verbally, face to face, texting, or even instant messaging,, etc.
  4. Ask others how they would prefer to be communicated with. Then employ and respect their style of communication.
