This is for all the mothers who at some point of time have had to leave their jobs to stay at home and look after their kids. How to stay at home after all those years of corporate life is what this article is about.

Steps

  1. If you've tried everything else and can think of nothing that can improve the situation of taking good care of your child. Just make the decision.
  2. Block every thought about your life at the office for the moment. Of course easier said than done.
  3. Try to think of all the things you always wanted to do and could never get to do them because you were too busy with juggling work and home.
  4. Remember whatever you chose, keep in mind that it has to involve more hours at home.
  5. Zero in on a few of them say, reading, writing, watching all the movies that you always wanted to see.
  6. Get down to making a list of all the books or movies or for that matter write down the ideas for your creative stuff.
  7. At the beginning Try to avoid meeting up with your ex office colleagues, because that sets your thought process back.
  8. If you have decided to stay home for a long term then avoid looking up anything that has to do with your skill sets, this triggers longing to get back to the work front and leads to frustrations.
  9. Take long morning walks preferably in a garden with flowers, this helps you to learn to appreciate the finer things in life that you would have otherwise missed had you been at the office.
  10. Last but not the least focus on your child. Look at his or her interests and make them your own. Grow with them.

Tips

  • Avoid social networking till you are ready to face the world and let it be known to others that you are now a stay at home mom.
  • Make friends with mothers of kids of similar age or class.
  • Bond with them, go out for lunches along with your children so that friendships can be formed.
  • Be busy at all times even if it doing really mundane and silly stuff. This gives you less time to think.
