Get Salt to Stick to Margarita Glasses
You may wonder how restaurants and bars get the salt to stick on margarita glass rims. There's a few tricks to adhering it until you're ready to enjoy the drink.
Steps
- Sprinkle a tablespoon or two of coarse salt into a small serving plate. You can also measure a 50-50 ratio of salt and sugar, as this gives a sweet taste.
- Wet the rim (or lip) of the glass with a fruit wedge. The most popular choice to use are limes, mainly for margaritas. Lemons, oranges, and other citrus fruits can also be used.
- Turn the glass upside down.
- Dip all sides of the rim into the salt by lightly swirling the glass.
- Turn the glass upright. Pour your drink into the salted rim glass, garnish it with additional fruit wedges, and enjoy.
Things You'll Need
- Margarita glass
