Get Wailord in Pokémon Emerald

Steps

  1. Head out to Route 129.You need a Pokémon that can learn Surf to do this step.
  2. Be very patient. Researching, you can get a 1 percent of finding a wild Wailord.
  3. Find one. Remember, that it is hard to get, so you can't get annoyed while doing this. Notice that a lot of Tentacool will be appearing and that will annoy you.
  4. Battle one. It's very hard to catch. Ultra Balls, and Net Balls are recommended.
  5. Catch it and congratulations! You have successfully caught a Wailord!

Alternative Method

  1. Obtain a Wailmer. This is the pre-evolution of Wailord.
  2. Train the Wailmer. This Wailmer can be pretty annoying to train. So, keep patience.
  3. Train it until it evolves. Wailmer is going to evolve to Wailord.

Battle Frontier Method

  1. Go to battle frontier and copy some rare candies.
  2. Give the rare candies to a Wailmer and evolve it into a Wailord using them.



Tips

  • Use status problem moves such as sleep, or freeze.
  • Use an Adamant natured Parasect with the moves of Spore, False Swipe (Egg move), Giga Drain/Leech seed, and a filler move. This is to ensure the best rate of capture, due to Spore making it sleep + The 1 HP left from False Swipe.

  • Do not defeat it.If you do,then good luck searching again.
  • Don't poison or burn it.It can inflict damage and will probably faint before you catch it.
