Catch the Three Regis in Pokémon Emerald

Here is how you can capture the three mystical legendary Pokémon of Rock, Ice, and Steel in Pokémon Emerald.

Steps

  1. Dive into the calm water. Make sure you have max repels for on the way to the area. The Sealed Chamber is a cave located beside Pacifidlog Town in the Route 134 ocean current. Take note that you will have to stick towards the very bottom of the screen. It is in a space of calm water there with a dark spot to Dive. Go where the inscription is and press B; say yes and go to the end. Use Dig go to the end of that tunnel and read the inscription. Put Relicanth last in your party and Wailord first, then go back and read the inscription again and there will be an earthquake. If this doesn't work go and switch Relicanth to first and Wailord to last and there should be an earthquake. Then a box tells you it sounds like doors opening far away. Remember to save before each fight!
  2. To catch Regirock, go into the Desert above Mauville City. Look around for a cave and go to the bottom. At the end of the cave you will see the braille. You must be in the center of the wall. Stay at the wall move 2 steps left and 2 steps down and use Rock Smash.
  3. To catch Regice, fly to Petalburg City and go west. Use Surf, and go southwest until you get to an island. Go across it and go north from there and you will discover a cave. Enter and read the Braille. Walk counter clock-wise around the edges of the entire chamber and the door will open.
  4. To catch Registeel, fly to Lilycove City. Go west as far as you can. You will see a berry patch or just some dirt. Go up those stairs, go past the little trainer hiding, through the grass, past the hiker and into the cave. Go in the Ancient Tomb. Go to the direct center of the cave and use Flash. You will open the cave entrance. Go through the door and prepare to fight Registeel after saving.

Tips

  • To find a Regi-tomb, look for a larger rock surrounded by six small rocks in a circle.
  • If you can, put the Regis to sleep. They will be easier to catch while they are asleep.
  • A useful Pokémon to use: Ludicolo holding Leftovers with the moves Ice Beam, Giga Drain, Surf, and Rain Dance.
    • This Pokémon is resistant to every Regi you will battle. Using Rain Dance will power up its Surf attack while healing you with Rain Dance. Rain Dish, in addition to Leftovers, is a great way to replenish health. If you need health faster, you can try Giga Drain against Regirock. Leech Seed/Toxic would probably be best over Giga Drain and Rain Dance, but if you're not careful, the Regi's health will drop to nothing. You may need to switch in a Pokémon to paralyze or sleep the Regis before capturing, but Ludicolo should be able to hold out for you.
  • If you have Pokémon Diamond/Pearl and beat the Pokémon League, you can import the Regis to Diamond or Pearl. Then go to the Snowpoint Temple, and at the bottom is a strong legendary Pokémon called Regigigas. You need all 3 Regis in your party or it won't budge. Regigigas is level 70, so be prepared (Dusk/Timer Balls work best)! In Pokémon Platinum Regigigas is at level one, so be sure to have a Pokémon with False Swipe and a move to make it fall asleep (Spore works the best for this).
  • It is recommended not to use the Regis when trying to catch the rest of them.
  • When catching the Regis, consider using a Pokémon with False Swipe. False Swipe will leave a Pokémon with only one HP.
  • Ultra Balls and Timer Balls are key. Timer Balls can be bought in Rustboro after talking to the Devon guy on route 116. Be sure to lower the Regi's health, then throw Ultra Balls. If you haven't caught it after 30 turns, start throwing Timer Balls.
  • Keep a Pokémon with Thunder Wave or one that has the Static ability in case the Pokémon you put it to sleep with faints and you run out of Revives.

Warnings

  • Save inside the Regi's cave so if you make one faint it won't disappear.
  • Make sure to bring Relicanth and Wailord to the cavern with you.
