Get a Martial Arts Career

Most kids have wanted to become ninjas at one point or another. Others want to be a ninja, even past childhood. But did you know that it is actually possible to pursue that career? Read on.

Steps

  1. Get a solid education. You'll want to take courses like human psychology, geography, mathematics (Hey, it can't hurt!), acting classes (for impersonation), and any other classes that could help. Also take classes outside of regular schooling, such as horseback riding, swimming, firearm training, knife training, and other lessons you feel would be helpful.
  2. One of the most important things to know for a ninja is martial arts. Get into either Bujinkan, Genbukan, Jinenkan, or To-shin do.
  3. Train. Stealth is so unbelievably important; put a lot of time and effort into it. Also, you need a good pain threshold - you must be able to withstand extreme pain and exhaustion. Speed, strength, flexibility, and a well-developed brain are equally important.
  4. Train with weapons - learn how to use anything (and everything) as a weapon.
  5. (Optional) Try to spend some time in Japan, but not for sightseeing. Look for ninja schools and try to visit them, or move to Japan and become enrolled in a school for ninjas. Although this step is optional, you might eventually want to get around to it.
  6. You may also want to get these jobs on your resume: bounty hunting, crime scene investigator (C.S.I), detective, police officer and/or S.W.A.T team member, a career in the government, a career in the military, a job as a martial arts instructor.
  7. Get the job. It could be in Japan as part of an actual ninja group, a government ninja, or a ninja for hire. Remember things that are normally criminal, like murder or burglary, are only pardonable in these situations:
    • A government job that specifically designates that as your mission
    • Self defense (death or serious injury) - although that is ruled out if you were doing something illegal at the time
    • If your clan is backed by the government
  8. This is a serious job, but there may not be missions very often. Either get a second job off your resume, or do more non-criminal jobs like babysitting or entertaining at children's parties.
  9. Have fun, but remember that this is a very serious job.

Tips

  • Ninjas are not magical. Remember this simple rhyme: Ninja ninja in the sky/ninja ninja cannot fly/ninja ninja is pure skill/ninja ninja last to kill.
  • Wilderness, desert, urban, and foreign survival are very good things to know.
  • The tonfa is a great weapon to start with. They are very affordable and they are extremely effective

Warnings

  • You may end up behind bars or {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} under, so be careful on missions and in life (you make a lot of enemies in this line of work).
