Get out of Physical Education in High School

Are you just not the sports type? Couldn't be bothered lugging around your gym clothes all day? With the right tricks, you can avoid gym class, and maybe even get out of it completely!

Steps

  1. Check your timetable and highlight the days that you have Physical Education.
  2. If your parents aren't going to care whether you participate or not, ask if they could write you a note or you could consider forging a note.
  3. If you have a job, then you can sign-up for the Work Program. The Work Program is in most high schools and counts as a P.E. credit. In order to take this, you have to have a good attendance and a paid job.
  4. Look for alternative courses. For example, at some high schools, four years of marching band fulfills the P.E credit requirement.
  5. Look into online alternatives. Some schools offer online courses so you won't have to take P.E.
  6. Get a limp, and say you have injured yourself at break. You will have to fake your injury all day, in case anybody gets suspicious.
  7. If you are a girl, tell your teacher you have cramps or PMS to get out of playing.
  8. Ask to go to the nurse (you can always fake a migraine).
  9. If it's team sports you are worried about, ask your teammates not to pass to you, and if they are looking for someone to pass to try to look available if your teacher is watching, but avoid eye contact with the person throwing the ball.

Tips

  • On days where you really don't want to do P.E., fake sick and get the day off. Only do this in the most dire of situations.
  • If you do skip gym make sure you are still taking time to exercise and stay healthy.
  • If you feel unfit in gym, practice the exercises such as push-ups at home to improve.
  • Tell your teacher you feel sick
  • If you're trying to make room in your schedule for another class, try looking for summer gym in your area. It's usually about 3 weeks or so and a couple of hours a day, but it's better than having to sit through a whole semester.
  • It is advisable not to skip P.E. as it helps you get fit and mentally do better in classes.
  • Acknowledge the fact that P.E. is part of your school curriculum.
  • If you absolutely have to, just suck it up and do your class!
  • If you're a girl, you can say you're on your period or you have cramps. Most teachers won't try to argue. Only do it once a month, though!

Warnings

  • These actions may get you a bad grade, result in detention, or even cause suspension.
