Get to Sootopolis City in Pokémon Ruby
Getting to Sootopolis City in Pokémon Ruby can be tricky, since you'll need to have a Pokémon that knows the HMs Dive and Surf. Sootopolis City can be found inside a big rock off the eastern coast of Hoenn mainland.
Steps
- Get the HM Surf from Wally's parents in Petalburg City after beating the Petalburg Gym.
- Get HM Dive from Steven in Mossdeep City after beating Mossdeep Gym.
- Go to the large rock rising out of the water on Route 126 and use dive on the dark water around the rock.
- Search for an opening in the rock and enter it.
- Use dive inside the opening in the rock to enter Sootopolis City.
Tips
- The city's Gym doors are locked until you awaken Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre. Rayquaza can be awakened at the Sky Pillar near Pacifidlog Town, Groudon and Kyogre are both awakened by Team Magma.
