Look Good in a Bathing Suit Without Losing Weight

Are you planning for an upcoming beach trip only to realize that you haven't lost those extra ten pounds as you intended? This doesn't mean that you can't still look your best! The following are some guidelines to ensure that you look great down at the shore, even with that bit of extra baggage.

Steps

  1. Remember that the right bathing suit will make you look better. Go to a good store (Nordstrom, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, etc.) and ask a salesperson to help find a bathing suit for you. You might also buy a magazine with articles about fitting a bathing suit for your body.
  2. Make sure you remove all body hair (shaving, waxing). It will make you more confident to get into your bathing suit.
  3. Exfoliate your skin. If you are preparing for a beach vacation, visit your dermatologist to get help with blemishes. Great skin makes you look 100% better.
  4. Get a tan. A good spray tan will do just fine. Just make sure its not orange or streaky.
  5. Fix up your hair nicely, like you are going on a big date. Big bouncy curls bring some excitement to any dull bathing suit.
  6. Minimal makeup. Put on some mascara and some chap stick, no need to put on any blush as the sun will give some redness to your cheeks. Just make sure that your mascara is waterproof.. of courseĀ :)
  7. Pick a classic piece of jewelry to wear. A bangle or a nice pendant would look great. Avoid big plastic jewelry, as it can look very tacky. If it isn't classic, just skip the jewelry.
  8. Get a nice pair of sandals. Jeweled sandals are very modern. No rubber!
  9. Maintain a good posture. This is very important. Keeping your shoulders back and your head up will make you look proud and sexy.
  10. Have confidence with yourself. If you think you look good in a bathing suit everyone else will think so, too.

Tips

  • Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate, it keeps you feeling cool and looking cool.
  • Don't be afraid to have fun. If you really want to play in the ocean, do it.
  • Don't let makeup be all caked on. And make sure that it's water-proof!
  • Use sunblock.
  • Keep face from looking greasy by using oil absorbing sheets (clean and clear).
  • It doesn't matter if your hair gets wet, love it and work it and it doesn't matter that your hair is dripping with salt water.
  • If you are having fun, you will look good.

Warnings

  • If you are going to be swimming in the ocean, avoid anything shiny/sparkly or sequined, such as jewelry, shiny bathing suits, anything with a buckle, etc. These things attract barracudas/sharks, and nobody looks good with a big gash in their leg.
