Maintain a Short Haircut
Short hair always looks good, is comfortable, and is easy to style. If you've always had long hair, transitioning to a shorter cut can be easier if you follow these steps.
Steps
- If your hair is long don't do anything too drastic on the first cut. Maybe start with a bob or other medium-length hairstyle or ask your stylist for suggestions based on your styling techniques and hair type.
- Try new hair products, and experiment with color to get a look that's completely different.
- Make sure to find a style you like. Collect photos from magazines of hairstyles you like to bring to your salon consultation.
- Always use product to style. Wash and go looks are easy to maintain but adding mousse or wax will really put your new cut over the top!
- Use your new short hair to try out new jewelry and makeup techniques since the shorter hair will put more focus on your face.
Tips
- There are girls and boys with long, short, and medium hair lengths. Just because someone else can't see past their stereotypes does not mean you should give up on easy, fun hairstyles for short hair.
- Buy a good dryer and high quality styling products.
- Try a cut with all different lengths, layers and colors.
Warnings
- Don't put too much product in or it will weigh your hair down.
