Make Apple Cinnamon Mug Cake

Nothing beats a delicious cake except if it's in a mug. This mug cake incorporates apples and cinnamon, which compliment each other very well, giving you an out of this world quick cake - not to mention, also a healthy one!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup diced apple
  • 2 tablespoon unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon stevia
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Steps

  1. Mix dry ingredients together. In a small bowl add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and stevia. Give it a quick stir and set aside.
  2. Mix wet ingredients together. In another small bowl add the almond milk, and diced apple. Mix until well combine. Set aside.
  3. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Get your dry ingredient mixture from earlier and gently pour in into the wet ingredients. Mix until well combine.
  4. Prepare a mug. Prepare your mug by greasing it with cooking oil spray or some oil
  5. Pour the mixture into the mug. Using a spoon transfer the mixture into the greased mug making sure all of the batter is used.
  6. Add some toppings. Place some thin apple slices on top for extra flavour. You can even sprinkle some more cinnamon or stevia on top.
  7. Cook the cake. Pop your mug into the microwave for 2 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
  8. Serve. Once your cake is cooked properly it's time to dig in straight from the mug!

Tips

  • This can be eaten as a snack or for breakfast when you're in a hurry.
  • Replace stevia for brown sugar or white sugar if you don't have some on hand.
  • You can grate the apples instead of dicing them into cubes for a different texture.
  • Any kind of apple can be used in this dish however it's best to use sweet apples instead of sour ones.
  • The cooking time depends on your microwave so don't be surprised if your cake isn't cooked fully.
