Make Vanilla and Lemon Butter Cake

This cake is easy to make and can be fun to make, too. Follow these next few steps and you will have vanilla and lemon butter cake!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups pastry flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract or fresh lemon juice
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 egg whites

Steps

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.
  2. Add sifted flour and mix.
  3. Add baking powder to milk and stir. Add to cake mix.
  4. Add both extracts and mix in well.
  5. Fold in each egg white and mix together.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven for 25 - 30 minutes.
  7. Add frosting when baked.
  8. Finished.
