Make Baked Beer Burgers

Beer, burgers, and spices... three items that could easily be enjoyed during a barbecue or casual gathering. So why not create a meal that incorporates all three of them into one? Here is how to make baked beer Buy Burger Patties––a quick and easy spicing up for your usual burger patties.

Yields 6 servings.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb, 900g ground beef
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 packet dry onion soup mix (see "Tips" for another idea)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) beer, divided in half
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • Dash pepper

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF/200ºC.
  2. Mix the ground beef, chili sauce, onion soup mix, half of the beer, garlic, and seasonings together in a large bowl.
  3. Create six hamburger patties from the mixture.
  4. Make Baked Hamburgers for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Use the remaining beer as a baste. Bake for another 10 minutes, or until the patties are well done.
  6. Finished.

Tips

  • This recipe will take approximately 10 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to cook.
  • If you would like a cheesier flavor, add a handful of shredded cheese to the mix too.
  • To minimize the "meatball" patty shape in Step 5, before baking, gently press a small indentation into the middle of the patty with your thumb. This will result in a flatter profile patty when done cooking.
  • If you don't want to use commercially produced dry onion soup mix, make your own: Mix 1/4 cup dried onion flakes, 2 tablespoons beef stock granules or crushed beef stock cube, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon parsley flakes, 1/8 teaspoon celery seed, 1/8 teaspoon paprika and ground pepper to taste. Use in the amount directed above.
  • Enjoy with a matching beer when serving.
