Make Celery Curls
Celery curls make a great addition to salads or for garnishing drinks. They are very easy to make.
Steps
- Choose the longer stalks of celery. Make sure that the leaves are still intact.
- Cut the celery sticks into fine strips right up to just below the leaves.
- Place each strip into a large bowl of iced water.
- Allow to sit. The sticks will curl up as they sit in the bowl.
- Remove and use once curled to your liking. They look great on the side of a glass and as a topping for a salad.
Tips
- Kids love the shape of curled celery; it's a great way to encourage them to eat celery.
- Make sure the leaves left are tender and edible. Some of the larger leaves can be too tough to leave on the stalk.
Things You'll Need
- Knife and chopping board
- Large bowl iced water - water with ice cubes added is fine
