Make Cloth Diapers from Towels
No diapers? No problem. With a fold here and a fold there you can turn an ordinary tea towel into the makeshift diaper.
Steps
- Fold the towel to the width of the baby's waist.
- Lay the folded towel vertically.
- Lay the baby on the towel.
- Twist the front of the diaper a 180-degree turn.
- Fold the front corners in.
- Pin back corners to the front of the diaper.
- Finished.
Tips
- Fold a small towel or washcloth to use inside the diaper for added absorbency for an older toddler.
- Safety pins are much better than straight pins (shown) and can be picked up for less than 2 dollars at your local grocery.
Warnings
- Always keep your fingers between the baby and the pin when pinning a diaper.
- Tea-towel diapers are only to be used in a pinch. The soap used in washing the towel may irritate your baby's bottom.
Things You'll Need
- cloth/tea towel
- two pins
- Plastic/rubber pants to avoid wetness spreading beyond your makeshift diaper.
