Make Dried Bananas in the Microwave
Dried bananas are useful as snacks and for decorating desserts and cakes. This version is simple and does not use any preservatives which can sometimes cause allergic reactions.
Ingredients
- Bananas (amount of choice)
Steps
- Peel the banana(s). Slice each banana in {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} - {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} slices.
- Arrange the slices on a microwave roasting rack or plate stacker. You may also use any microwavable container.
- Microwave on the defrost mode for 10 to 15 minutes, or until slightly sticky to touch. If you smell burning a few minutes into microwaving them, remove them and make sure it's in defrost next time.
- Remove from the microwave. Transfer the slices to a wire cake rack.
- Allow to stand overnight.
Tips
- Store in an airtight container lined with baking paper.
- After 5/10 minutes turn them over so both side will be even and it turns out good.
