Make Honey Nut Oatmeal with Peaches
This is oatmeal that tastes like Honey-Nut Cheerios with peaches but without all the fat! Fresh peaches are the most delicious but canned peaches are just as fine. Wake up to a fresh taste that may just convince the kids that oatmeal is delicious!
Ingredients
- 3 cups of fast cooking oats
- 1 1/2 cups of milk (dairy, soy, rice, etc.)
- 1 1/2 cups of water
- Diced peaches (fresh or canned)
- 1 cup of diced walnuts
- 4 tbsp (2 oz.) of honey
Steps
- Turn the stove on to medium-high heat. Boil the water and milk in a pot or saucepan.
- Stir in oats until thickened. Lower the heat to a low-medium.
- Slowly pour in the walnuts, peaches and honey. Stir and mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
- Pour the oatmeal into medium-sized serving bowls.
- Let it cool for 2 1/2 minutes. Unless you enjoy your oatmeal hot.
- Enjoy!
Tips
- This will make 4-5 servings.
- Toppings could include more fresh/canned peach slices, a sprinkling of cinnamon or nutmeg, a drizzle of honey, a few more walnuts.
