Make Honey Nut Oatmeal with Peaches

This is oatmeal that tastes like Honey-Nut Cheerios with peaches but without all the fat! Fresh peaches are the most delicious but canned peaches are just as fine. Wake up to a fresh taste that may just convince the kids that oatmeal is delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of fast cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk (dairy, soy, rice, etc.)
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • Diced peaches (fresh or canned)
  • 1 cup of diced walnuts
  • 4 tbsp (2 oz.) of honey

Steps

  1. Turn the stove on to medium-high heat. Boil the water and milk in a pot or saucepan.
  2. Stir in oats until thickened. Lower the heat to a low-medium.
  3. Slowly pour in the walnuts, peaches and honey. Stir and mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
  4. Pour the oatmeal into medium-sized serving bowls.
  5. Let it cool for 2 1/2 minutes. Unless you enjoy your oatmeal hot.
  6. Enjoy!

Tips

  • This will make 4-5 servings.
  • Toppings could include more fresh/canned peach slices, a sprinkling of cinnamon or nutmeg, a drizzle of honey, a few more walnuts.
