Make Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal with Maple Syrup

This is unique oatmeal that has the delicious taste of cinnamon and raisin toast.

Makes 4-5 servings.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fast cooking oats
  • 1½ cups milk (dairy, soy, rice, etc.)
  • 1½ cups water
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 2 cups raisins (or dried cranberries)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Steps

  1. Pour the water and milk into a saucepan. Set the temperature to medium-high heat and place the saucepan over the stove.
  2. Stir in oats slowly. Continue stirring until thickened into oatmeal.
  3. Stir in the raisins, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Mix thoroughly to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
  4. Put oatmeal into four medium-sized bowls.
  5. Let it cool for 2½ minutes.

Tips

  • Toppings can include brown sugar, more maple syrup, or maple sugar. If you really enjoy cinnamon, why not add a dash more to the top?
