Make Internet Explorer Your Default Internet Browser
Firefox, Chrome, and Opera have their place, but sometimes what you need is to make IE your default browser again. We'll show you a couple ways to make that happen, depending on what you are running.

Steps
Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9
- Open Internet Options. From the Start menu, go to Control Panel, then click Network and Internet.
- Once in Internet Options, click on the Programs tab, then select Set your default programs.
- In the Programs bar to the left, select Internet Explorer, then click Set this program as default.
- Your new default browser will be Internet Explorer.
Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP with Internet Explorer 7 or 8
- Open Internet Options. Click the Start button, then click Control Panel, click Network and Internet, and then click Internet Options.
- Select the Program tab. In the Internet Options window, click the Programs tab, then next to where it says "Internet Explorer is not currently the default web browser," click Make default.
- Click the checkbox to tell you if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser.
