Make Kaju Katli

Kaju Katli is an attractive dessert of Indian origin. It is made from cashews, sugar, cardamom powder and ghee. It can be made at home by the easy recipe given below.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1/3 tsp rose essence
  • 100 gms cashew nuts
  • 80 gm sugar, powdered

Steps

  1. Soak cashew nuts in water
  2. Drain and grind them to a paste using as little water as possible.
  3. Mix together the sugar and cashew paste.
  4. Cook in a kadai on medium flame for about 8-10 minutes. When the mixture thickens, reduce the flame and keep stirring. Be sure to make the paste as fine as possible before cooking it.
  5. Sprinkle cornflour. Stir well and remove from fire.
  6. Mix in the rose essence.
  7. Turn on the mixture to a greased marble or wooden surface.
  8. Roll it thin with a greased roller.
  9. Spread the silver sheet over and cut into diamond shaped katlis.
  10. Finished!



Tips

  • Excellent decorations or stuffing ingredients include nuts, Make No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Drops, glace cherries, whipped cream, crumbled biscuits, dried fruits, colored sugar, etc.
