Prepare Sooji Halwa

This is the recipe for preparing sooji halwa. This is an Indian delicious dessert and very easy to prepare. Kids love this dessert and very healthy and easy to digest. In India they prepare this dish during the festivals.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sooji (You can find the sooji in any Indian grocery store)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 & 1/2 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • Cashews
  • Raisins
  • Cardamom powder

Steps

  1. First we need to take a pan and heat the pan on a medium flame.
  2. When the pan is hot add butter to it.
  3. Take the cashews and raisins and fry them in the butter.
  4. Fry the sooji in the butter till it gets golden brown.
  5. Take a pan and boil the water.
  6. Add the sugar to the boiling water.
  7. Take the fried sooji add slowly into the boiling water stir properly otherwise lumps will be formed.
  8. stir the sooji till all the water evaporates.
  9. Add some more butter to it
  10. Then add cashews, raisins and cardamom powder to it.
  11. Finished!
