Make Kimchi Wontons
Almost any tasty food makes for a perfect filling in a wonton wrapper, whether it's Make Nutella Ravioli, Make Baked Crab Rangoon, or cream cheese. Try these deep fried snacks as a small lunch, snack, or at a picnic. Here is how to make kimchi wontons.
Ingredients
- 1 jar (14 oz, 400g) kimchi
- 1 can Spam
- 1 egg white
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- 8 oz, 226g cream cheese
- Canola oil, for deep frying
Steps
- Prepare the spam by grating it into a medium bowl. Dice the kimchi.
- Thoroughly combine the cream cheese, spam, and kimchi together.
- Place a spoonful (about a tablespoon) of the kimchi mixture in the center on each wonton wrapper.
- Lightly brush the egg white on the wonton wrapper edges. Fold and seal the wonton in a triangle shape.
- Add the canola oil to a wok, leaving at least two inches of space from the top. Make sure that the oil temperature is at least 400ºF (200ºC).
- Deep fry the wontons until golden brown.
- Strain the wontons to remove any excess oil.
