Make Kimchi Wontons

Almost any tasty food makes for a perfect filling in a wonton wrapper, whether it's Make Nutella Ravioli, Make Baked Crab Rangoon, or cream cheese. Try these deep fried snacks as a small lunch, snack, or at a picnic. Here is how to make kimchi wontons.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (14 oz, 400g) kimchi
  • 1 can Spam
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 8 oz, 226g cream cheese
  • Canola oil, for deep frying

Steps

  1. Prepare the spam by grating it into a medium bowl. Dice the kimchi.
  2. Thoroughly combine the cream cheese, spam, and kimchi together.
  3. Place a spoonful (about a tablespoon) of the kimchi mixture in the center on each wonton wrapper.
  4. Lightly brush the egg white on the wonton wrapper edges. Fold and seal the wonton in a triangle shape.
  5. Add the canola oil to a wok, leaving at least two inches of space from the top. Make sure that the oil temperature is at least 400ºF (200ºC).
  6. Deep fry the wontons until golden brown.
  7. Strain the wontons to remove any excess oil.
  8. Finished.
