Make LEGO Eggs for Easter

LEGO eggs are a fun and geeky way to celebrate Easter. They're simple to make and very effective when displayed as a group.

Steps

  1. Assemble the supplies needed. These are listed below under "Things You'll Need".
  2. Boil the eggs if you haven't already done so. Then allow to cool.
  3. On one side of the egg, glue a row of three evenly spaced mints. Run this down the length of the egg.
  4. Leave a gap between this row and glue another row of three evenly spaced mints running alongside the first row.
  5. Leave to dry. Repeat with the other eggs.
  6. Paint the entire egg and over the mints, all one color. For the best effect, have at least a minimum of three eggs, one yellow, one red and one blue.
  7. Allow to dry. The drying eggs can be rested on a wire cooling rack or on parchment (baking) paper to dry completely.
  8. Arrange for a display. Place a soft material such as shredded paper or plastic in a basket. Carefully lay down the LEGO eggs so that the mint bumps face outward. The whole display should look like little Lego eggs.

Things You'll Need

  • At least three boiled eggs, or as many as you'd like to make (the more, the merrier)
  • Small raised mints (smoker's mints)
  • Red, yellow and blue craft paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Craft glue
  • Wire cooling rack or baking (parchment) paper
  • Basket and filling for display
