Make Glow in the Dark Easter Eggs
Dyed eggs are a colorful addition to any Easter morning---but what if you could search for them at night? This guide will show you how to make glow in the dark Easter eggs in a few simple steps. Where you hide them is up to you!
Steps
- Use fine grit sandpaper to sand the plastic Easter egg.
- Do this lightly to avoid creating a hole in the egg.
- Pour 1 cup (8 oz) of water-based acrylic varnish into a plastic cup and add 1/4 cup (2 oz) of glow in the dark powder.
- Mix well.
- Use a craft brush to paint your eggs with the mixture.
- Dry your newly painted eggs.
- Place all eggs under a black light 10 minutes prior to hiding. This will charge the glow in the dark surface.
- Place in the back yard at night.
Warnings
- Do not use real eggs. Even if the glow in the dark powder you have selected is non-toxic, ingestion is not recommended. .
- If you allow your children to do this project, make sure to supervise them carefully.
