Make One Egg Waffles

Most waffle recipes call for lots of eggs and butter. This old-fashioned recipe calls for just one egg and a scant amount of butter. While waffles may never be the healthiest breakfast treat, at least this recipe helps!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Make Chocolate Scones
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg, very lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Steps

  1. Whisk together dry ingredients.
  2. Add milk slowly, beaten egg and melted butter.
  3. Beat batter for 2 minutes and drop by spoonfuls onto a well greased hot waffle iron.
  4. Bake until steaming stops.
  5. Remove waffle from iron and keep warm until ready to serve.
  6. Done. Serve with a small amount of syrup, cream, jam or other favorite condiments.
