Make Popcorn While Camping
Making popcorn over a campfire will make a healthful and tasty snack while out on the trail. Be sure to use appropriate safety precautions and campground rules when laying a fire.

Ingredients
- Popcorn
- Vegetable oil
- Butter
- Salt
- Sugar, optional
Steps
- Build your campfire in clear area away from trees and buildings. Allow the fire to burn until hot embers form.
- Cut foil into 18 to 20-inches long pieces.
- Add a handful of popcorn on top of each piece of foil.
- Add a teaspoon of vegetable oil to each piece of foil.
- Fold the foil in half and then twist the sides to seal.
- Attach the foil pouch to a long stick.
- Place the pouches over or slightly above the coals of your campfire.
- Listen and wait for the popcorn kernels to start popping.
- Remove the Make Grilled Mushrooms in Foil Packets once you do not hear any more popping inside the foil packets.
- Be careful when opening the pouch as it will be very hot and steamy inside.
- Season the popcorn with butter and salt. Sugar is optional.
- Finished.
Warnings
- Don't leave the fire unattended. Like on a stove if you leave it alone, the popcorn will burn
- Always follow campground safety rules when lighting a fire.
- Use caution when opening the foil packets as they will be extremely hot.
