Make Queen Cakes or Fairy Cakes

Ever wanted to know how to make lovely buns that are BETTER than shop-bought ones? Follow this easy recipe to find out how! (Makes 12) For those in the USA, a fairy cake is the same thing as a cupcake.

Ingredients

  • 113g of butter
  • 113g sugar
  • 113g self rising flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence.

Steps

  1. Set the oven to 190 (392 Fahrenheit) degrees Celsius Put the bun cakes in the bun tin.
  2. Sift the flour into a bowl with the sugar. Add in the butter, eggs and pour in the vanilla.
  3. Beat it all together until you have a soft creamy mixture.
  4. Using 2 spoons, put the mixture into the bun cakes and put the tins in the oven.
  5. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes until a golden colour.

Things You'll Need

  • Bun Tin (a cupcake pan, muffin tin, whatever you call it) Oven proof coffee mugs can also be used
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Oven
