Make Sneezing Powder

Have the need for a good laugh? Looking for something to do with a group of friends? Need a little revenge on that person who spilled their salad on you last week? Maybe you should consider the mixture of powder, which is both simple to make and simple to use.

Ingredients

  • Various spices such as:
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Ground Thyme
  • Ground Red Pepper
  • Ground Cumin
  • Ground Chili Powder

Steps

  1. Check your pantry. Gather all the spices that are on hand and smell them all. Do any irritate the nose? Do any trigger sneezing? Keep a list of the spices that are irritating.
  2. Mix spices together in a bowl. Make sure the powder is potent by adding the most irritating spice in large ratios, while the least irritating spice in smaller proportions.
  3. Using the object selected for grinding (see Things You'll Need), grind the spices. Mash the mixture for about ten minutes, making sure the spices are a fine powder.
  4. Transfer the spices from the bowl to the film canister. This step can be done with a funnel or a folded paper plate.
  5. Test your powder. Sprinkle a little on your hand and rub your nose. Did the spices trigger a sneeze? Test the spices on a few more people before the decision is made to keep the powder or to restart.

Tips

  • Do not use it on kittens & cats.
  • Ground Black Pepper or Black Peppercorns are the most popular spices used to make this powder.
  • The finer the spices are mashed, the more effective they'll be.
  • Remember everyone has different tolerances. What may be potent to some, may not be to others.
  • Remember potency is key. If out of twenty people, the powder only makes six sneeze, it may be in your best interests to restart.
  • Keep records of the spices that worked, the spices that didn't work, and what combinations worked.
  • The powder can be spread by throwing pinches of it in the air, spreading it on tables, desks, or drawers, or even by the use of a fan.

Warnings

  • Be cautious of people with allergies. Some spices could cause an allergic reaction that could result in serious injury or death.
  • Do not get the powder in anyone's eyes.
  • Do not eat the powder.

Things You'll Need

  • A flat bottomed object for grinding (i.e. mortar and pestle, water bottle, tenderizer)
  • Film canister
  • Bowl
  • Funnel (optional)
