Make Spaghetti Tacos
Most people are familiar with tacos and spaghetti, but have you ever tried to make the famous, "spaghetti tacos" from the television show, iCarly or "Victorious"? This article explains how to make these delicious spaghetti taco creations!
Ingredients
- Taco shells (The soft shells are easier to handle, but the hard shells also work if they are handled properly.)
- Marinara sauce (Basic tomato and herb pasta sauce or bolognese sauce with meatballs or sausages.)
- Prepared spaghetti (With desired choice of noodles, toppings, or sauce.)
- Salt and pepper (For some extra flavor)
- Other desired toppings (Chopped green peppers, fresh parsley pieces, cheese, etc.)
Steps
- Prepare the spaghetti as desired. Follow the directions on the packaging for best results. Choose which kind of noodles, toppings, and sauces you want.
- Strain the cooked spaghetti and put it to one side. Allowing it to cool just a little is important to ensure that it isn't too moist or warm for the taco.
- Make the sauce and heat it up. Use Make Spaghetti Bolognese With a Twist or anything similar. If making your own sauce, reduce the moisture content as much as possible in order to prevent it from being too runny)
- Mix the sauce with the pasta. You'll want the spaghetti to soak up the flavor of the sauce. This is easiest done in a small bowl for each serving. Doing it this way can ensure a good consistency for each taco. If necessary, you might consider straining meat sauce through a strainer or cheesecloth before mixing with the spaghetti noodles. For runny sauce this will help to cut down on the liquid.)
- Spoon the prepared spaghetti into the taco shells. Use a high-sided pan to put them into and keep them upright as you work through all of the tacos you're filling.
- After filling the tacos, sprinkle on the prepared peppers or parsley to taste. Cheese is another good topping. If you want to melt the cheese, place the filled taco shells into the oven to crisp for five minutes, then remove and allow to cool for a minute prior to eating.
- Finished.
Tips
- Don't forget to clean your cooking area, and put away everything you used.
- Try fresh corn tortillas for your shells. The delicate corn flavor of a homemade shell is a much better complement than store-bought shells.
- Experiment with different types of noodles and sauces. If you don't have spaghetti noodles, angel hair pasta, or whatever you usually use, try using farfalle or penne.
Warnings
- Use the usual precautions when handling hot food, the stove or oven. Use oven mitts to remove the pan from the oven if heating the tacos.
