Make Valentine's Day Curtains

Globally, Valentine's Day is that time of the year when people of all age groups celebrate the beautiful feeling called love. Couples can be seen in parks, malls and coffee shops expressing their love for each other. And of course, shops and stores (both online and offline) sell custom made items just for the day, making huge profits. These items of course come with great discounts as well. But nothing could match the beauty of a Valentine’s Day accessory made by your own hands. So let us see how to custom design one of those lovely designer curtains which can be hung in your room for Valentine's Day, while you have a candle light dinner with your lover.

Steps

Designing the curtain

  1. Take a long, plain white cloth and cut it according to the dimensions of your window. Empty a large bottle of pink fabric dye onto it and spread it all around the cloth in a uniform fashion, using a roller or a large paint brush.
    • Let the paint stick on to the cloth well, by allowing the cloth to dry for few hours.
  2. Dip a rubber stamp with the image of a cupid on it, into a bottle of golden ink and stamp cupid images randomly all over the cloth.
  3. Dip a rubber stamp with the image of a heart, into a bottle of silver ink and stamp heart images throughout the remaining spaces of the cloth.
  4. Sew in some large Valentine's Day flowers such as red roses made of cloth all along the top of the curtain.
  5. Sew in silver and golden colored paper ribbons randomly at the bottom of the curtain.
  6. Spray a bottle of the sweetest smelling perfume on the curtain (Good smell is something which is mandatory for Valentine's Day curtains).

Hanging the veil

  1. Hang the curtain on a curtain rod (use curtain hooks), in front of a window which is next to the dining table.
  2. Light a decorative valentine’s day candle and place it in the center of the dining table, in such a way that it illuminates the beauty of the veil perfectly.
  3. Switch off the bulbs in the room and have that perfect dinner with your date, while he/ she admires your masterpiece.

Warning:

  • When you place the candle near the veil, ensure that it is at a distance, where chances of the curtain catching fire are nil.

Tips:

  • Make sure that while you stamp a particular image on those curtains, you leave enough space for other images to be stamped as well. Don’t stamp similar images close to each other.
