Make a Caramel Latte

Caramel lattes are not only delicious, they are easy to make at home. Try making one of the methods at home and you'll never buy another overpriced version at a coffee shop again.

Ingredients

  • Microwave Method (serves 2):
    • 1 can evaporated milk
    • 1/2 cup caramel syrup
    • 4 teaspoons instant coffee
    • 1 cup hot water (just under boiling)
  • No Foam Method (serves 1):
    • 3/4 cup hot water
    • 1/4 cup hot milk
    • 2 teaspoons instant coffee
    • 1 tablespoon caramel syrup
    • 1 teaspoon packed dark brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon whipped cream (optional)
  • Stovetop Method (serves 1):
    • 1 teaspoon caramel syrup
    • milk
    • coffee

Steps

Microwave Method

  1. Mix together the evaporated milk and caramel syrup into a small microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until hot.
  3. Pour the mixture into a blender.
  4. Blend on high for 1 minute or until frothy.
  5. Spoon 2 teaspoons of instant coffee into each mug.
  6. Add 1/2 cup hot water to each mug and stir.
  7. Pour half the milk mixture into each mug.
  8. Spoon the foam on top.
  9. Drizzle with additional caramel syrup, if desired.

No Foam Method

  1. Combine the water, milk and coffee in a large mug.
  2. Stir until the coffee is fully dissolved.
  3. Stir in the caramel syrup and sugar.
  4. Top with whipped cream, if desired.

Stovetop Method

  1. Pour syrup into the mug.
  2. Heat milk in a small saucepan. Do not boil.
  3. Remove milk from heat and whisk until frothy.
  4. Pour milk into mug.
  5. Fill the mug with the froth, leaving about an inch of space.
  6. Top up the mug with coffee.
  7. Drizzle the top with additional caramel syrup, if desired.
