Make a Melted Crayon Canvas
Are you a creative person who loves crayons? Well, read on to find out how to make an awesome masterpiece!
Steps
- First, find your supplies. (List of supplies below) Make sure that you are working in an area that you don't mind getting dirty.
- Glue crayons onto the top of your canvas in rainbow order. Let the glue dry. This might take up to an hour.
- When your glue is dry, place your canvas against a wall so it's easier to make the melted wax drip downwards.
- Take your hair-dryer, turn it on it's highest setting, and blow-dry the crayons. The heat from the blow-dryer will make the wax drip down the canvas. This may take awhile.
- Once you're satisfied with your canvas, let the wax dry. It won't take too long. Hang up your masterpiece in a place where everybody will see it!
Tips
- Don't blow dry at full speed; the wax will go everywhere. Use lowest or medium speed and highest heat.
- Don't use dark colors. (Gray, black, dark green, crimson, etc.) Dark colors will melt in with the light colors, and that won't look very nice.
- Be patient for the crayons to start melting-it will take a while.
You can paint the canvas black before you start for the pop , funk and artsy look.
- You don't have to glue the crayons on, just lay them down and they'll go in different directions!
Warnings
- The wax might drip somewhere off of your canvas, so wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
