Make a Pie Chart in Adobe Illustrator
Have you ever seen a business plan, a year-end financial statement, or statistical report without a pie chart? Of course not. That's because the pie chart is an indispensable element for analytics. This tutorial will show you how to use Adobe Illustrator to make your very own pie chart.
Steps
- Select Graph Tool and scroll down to Pie Graph Tool.
- Click and drag the cursor on the screen. Releasing the left mouse button will bring up the table in which numbers can be entered for the pie chart.
- After you've finished typing in the numbers, click the Tick button. Close the data entry box by clicking the X in the upper right corner of the table.
- Note: You can type any kind of data into the pie chart. It doesn't necessarily have to be numbers.
- Take a good look at the pie chart. Double check to make sure the numbers, colors, and shapes correspond to your data.
- Modify the pie chart colors. This is optional. The colors of the chart can be modified by un-grouping the elements and changing each color as you want. Or to keep the chart data editable, use the direct select tool (A) on each piece of the chart.
