Make a Smoke Bomb out of Ping Pong Balls

This article will show you how to make a cheap smoke bomb out of ping pong balls in just a few minutes. Be warned that ping pong smoke bombs emit toxic fumes that should only be burned outside away from people and pets.

Steps

Using Many Balls

  1. Buy some ping pong balls, you will need at least two for each bomb.
  2. Use a knife to cut one of the balls to shreds. If you use more shreds, then your smoke will last longer.
  3. Cut a small hole in the other ball big enough to put the pieces from the first ball in.
  4. Wrap it in a few layers of foil but leave the hole open. Make additional small holes on the sides so the smoke will go in all directions.
  5. If you have a fuse put that in the hole; if not then then drop an unlit match in instead.
  6. Read the tips and the warnings below before lighting it.

Using One Ball

  1. As above, Buy a ping pong ball. for this, you only need one ball.
  2. Wrap the ball in tin foil, but leave a chimney from the top, leading to the ball, and have it big enough so you could reach down and touch it with your finger. a good way to do this is wrap the ball, and use the foil at the top to wrap around your finger
  3. Pour some match heads into the ball and twist the tin foil.
  4. Heat the bottom of the bomb, near the ball until you hear a hiss, and it begins smoking.
  5. Get away, the smoke smells bad and will make you smell bad, and it's toxic.



Tips

  • For method 2: If you do not get away from the gas, it will leave you smelling like the gas, which smells very bad.
  • It turns out that burning ping pong balls produce a flammable gas and if you put lit matches in it, the fire will light the gas. So it might make flames shoot out of the hole. Good idea: Don't put match heads all the way in the hole.
  • The smoke bomb, is not to be used as a weapon, it's a waste of ping pong balls.

Warnings

  • Do not inhale the smoke, it is POISONOUS and might make you faint and get sick.
  • If you do try to make the flame, make sure you have hose or fire extinguisher ready.
  • And last of all do not use one of these in a small space it will make it stink for weeks and it emits a poisonous gas.
  • Don't burn yourself!
  • Do this outside away from people, pets, or anything flammable.
