Make an Easy Homemade Air Conditioner from a Fan and Water Bottles
Does you bedroom get extremely hot at night? Do you not want to spend $200-$400 on a portable A/C unit? Here are instructions for a cheap, basic air conditioning unit.
Steps
- Find an ordinary 20"x20" household box fan. If you don't have one, they are $14.99 at your local hardware store.
- Go to the store and get a 6 pack of bottled water.
- Open the caps and add about 2-3 tablespoons of salt (Morton's works best) to each water bottle.
- Cap off the modified water bottles and place them in the freezer overnight.
- Set the box fan up in your bedroom, on top of a table, preferably.
- The next day, take the modified frozen water bottles out of the freezer and place them on a serving tray.
- Place the serving tray with the modified frozen water bottles on it in front of the box fan.
- Turn on the box fan and stay cool!
- Each morning, place the water bottles back in the freezer for a day until you want to use the air conditioner again that night.
- Finished.
