Paint Watermelon Nails
With summer here, what better design could you have for your manicure than watermelon nail art? It's fun, colorful and a little bit flirty. Surprisingly, even if you aren't artistic, getting this look is relatively easy. Here is 9-step guide on wikiHow to paint watermelon nails.
Steps
- Remove any old nail polish.
- Paint your entire nail a light pink or red, the color of watermelons. The color in the photo is O.P.I's "A Dozen Roses".
- Let dry.
- Paint a green tip. If you don't have a thin brush meant for this you can use a tooth pick or tape. The picture used Nail Art by Milani.
- Let dry.
- Add the seeds. Use a black nail pen (or a tooth pick or a bobby pin dipped into the black regular nail polish.) Try not to form bubbles with the polish. Bubble take longer to dry and are easier to smudge. For the photo, a two way nail art brush and pen from dELiA's was used.
- Let dry.
- Put a clear coat of nail polish to keep longer lasting. For the nails in the photos, E.L.F nail polish was used.
- Enjoy your gorgeous fruity nails!
Tips
- Wait for design to dry before using top coat. Otherwise it will leave your beautiful design smeared and ruined.
- Always use a good top coat to leave a beautiful shine, and make your design stand out!
- Always use a base-coat when working with darker colors, or neon colors. It will stain your nail if you don't!
- The base coat also protects your nail.
