Pass a Soccer Ball

Passing the ball correctly is one of the main skills in soccer. It is what keeps the game pace going and without it, you are not likely to win your team a goal.The key with passing is to keep it simple which means that you should try to always pass the ball to your nearest teammate that is not marked by an opponent.

Steps

  1. Learn how to pass a ball.While passing the ball you should use the inside of your foot .
  2. Decide who you are passing to.
  3. Make sure the person is open and that it is a smart play.
  4. Ensure that an opposing player is not in the passing path of the ball
  5. If you are running and passing, slow down and put your weak foot about even with the ball.
  6. If you are standing still try to take a step back and put your foot plant even with the ball.
  7. Have your plant foot pointing to your target.
  8. With the inside of your foot, connect solidly with the middle of the ball.
  9. Make sure your ankle is locked, so you do not hurt it.
  10. Follow through and bring your leg up. Make sure your leg does not bring up too far or else you will fall backwards.
  11. Keep playing and make sure your pass got to your target. If it didn't, make up for it by trying to get the ball back.
  12. Take control of the ball before you decide what to do with it
  13. When passing the ball to a player that is far away from you, you will need to use more power to get the ball to the other player. This is a right way to pass the ball so it reaches your target

  • but remember you will naturally lean backwards so lean a little forwards.
  • Try to relax and focus on hitting the ball correctly.
  • You can also pass with the laces,outside, sole of the foot, or heel.
  • Always make sure who you are passing to before you pass the ball.
  • While playing a game in soccer don't be a ball hog, pass the ball. You'll get more chances to score and more goals, be a team player.
  • You don't always have to pass the ball sometimes dribbling or shooting might be better.
  • If a player keeps guarding you, do a lob pass which kicks it over their head and goes to your teammate. Great on scoring too.
  • Lean backwards if you want the ball to go high or if not lean forwards.
  • Always know who to pass to before you pass the ball.
  • Look for alternatives when passing
  • Make sure in a triangle play to your teammates which will give you an option to play it wide or to give your teammates a chance.

  • Always look up before you pass the ball
  • Make sure that you don't kick with your toes because you might hurt yourself.
  • Make sure when passing; the coast is clear and your opponent can't intercept the ball.
  • Don't take a running start before you pass unless the play has stopped and it is a goal kick or free kick.
