Ensure All Users Have Local PC Administrator Rights

Log on as a user with Local Administrative Rights

Note: This does not work on XP HOME

Steps

  1. Right-Click the My Computer icon. Note: The My Computer will be displayed either on the Desktop or Start Panel.
  2. Left-Click Manage on the popup menu.
  3. Click Local User and Groups.
  4. Click Groups.
  5. Right-Click Administrators.
  6. Left-Click Properties.
  7. Click the Add... button. NOTE: If From this location: is displaying your computer name, the following two sets of steps can be skipped.
  8. Click the Locations... button.
  9. Click on your computer's name.
  10. Click the OK button.
  11. Type Everyone into the Enter the object names to select (examples): textbox.
  12. Click the OK button.
  13. Validate Everyone is displayed.
  14. Click the OK button.

Tips

  • Method 3: Click Start > Right click on Computer > Click on Manage
  • Method 2: Push "Windows Key + R" > Type "compmgmt.msc" without quotes ["] > OK
  • You can open computer management window using either method listed below:
  • Method 1: Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative tools > Computer Management
